The recent years have seen a steady increase in the number of huge sources of data, both scientific data, generated by progress in data acquisition in several applied fields, and business data, with the growth of e-commerce, the development of social networks, of personalized web services and of new user interactions via mobile apps. With the progress in several fields centered on data analysis and data intelligence such as computational statistic, machine learning, information retrieval, computer vision, natural language processing, computational biology, and others, it becomes increasingly interesting to be able to handle, process and analyze very large amounts of data.
What is today called the "Big data" phenomenon calls for new integrated computational schemes. Both large companies such as FaceBook or Amazon (that do possess data and computing power), as well as universities, are working towards the emergence of a new field of research: data science. Around the talks of a number of researchers from academia and from the industry, the goal of this journée is to contribute to the discussions and exchanges that are necessary to the development of research and technologies in data science and massive data analysis.
We hope to organize an event that can be of interest to a broad audience of researchers from academia and the industry.

The laboratoire d'excellence Bézout focusses on the extremely active research areas at the interface between mathematics and computer science. It includes all the members of three laboratories of the PRES UPE:
These laboratories are located in Marne-La-Vallée and Créteil.
